Welcome to the Star Fleet Marines Detachment

The Starfleet Marines Just this name sends chills down the collective spine of hostile commanders throughout the galaxy. The enemies of the Federation know that an attack on the Federation or her allies will not go unnoticed or unanswered. While the ships of The Federation battle in space, the Star Fleet Marines will pound them on the surface. Marines are specially trained for planetary operations of every kind - from covert landings to full-scale defensive warfare. The Marines are the Federation's best weapon against an enemy presence on a member world, and  are the only hope for removing any enemy that manages to gain a foothold.        These Marines could be called the 24th century Commandos.

 Below you will find a description of the positions available under the Marine Corps Detachment of Star Fleet Command.

Detachment Commander

The Detachment Commander is responsible for all the Marine  personnel assigned to the ship or facility. This officer is in supreme command over all  Marine Forces in his command, also he is required to take command of all special ground operations.

 Also this officer is a department head and a member of the Senior Staff. The Marines could be called the 24th century Commandos.

Detachment Deputy Commander

This officer is The Assistant to the Detachment Commander, removing some of the work load from the Detachment Commander and if the need arises taking on the role of Detachment Commander.

This officer overseas the regular duties of the Marines, from regular drills to equipment training, also puts together  assignments and supply requests to the ships Materials Officer.

Company Commander

The Company Commander is in command and is responsible for all the Platoons, Marines, and personnel assigned to His Company. This officer takes orders primarily from the Detachment Commander.

Company Deputy Commander

This officer is The Assistant to the Company Commander, works like any Asst. Department head, by removing some of the work load from the Company Commander and if the need arises taking on the role of Company Commander.

Platoon Commander

The Platoon Commander is responsible for all the Marines and personnel assigned to his platoon.  This officer takes officer takes orders from the Company Commanders This Officer will have at least a rank of Lt. 

Platoon Deputy Commander

This Officer is The Assistant to the Platoon Commander, works like any Asst. Department head, removing some of the work load from the Platoon Commander and if the need arises taking on the role of Platoon Commander This Officer is a NCO ( Non Commissioned Officer) of at least Staff Sgt. rate

Squad Leader

Responsible for the welfare for all Marines under his command in that Squad. Required to lead and command the Squad in and out of Combat. This officer provides training for the Squad both physically and mentally with use of the holo deck and real combat situations. This officer Maintains order and discipline among his troops. This officer Reports to the Platoon Leader. This position requires any Officer with the rank of Sergeant and above.

Assistant Squad Leader

This officer will Assist  the Squad leader and is responsible for overseeing the implementing of orders from the Squad Leader. This position may be held by any Marine rank.

Marine

Sometimes referred to as the grunt. The backbone of the Marines division, these are the field troops and are required to follow orders at all times Answers to the Squad Leader and to the assistant squad leader.

First Sergeant

The First Sergeant is the highest ranked Enlisted marine.  This officer is in charge of all of the marine enlisted affairs in the detachment.   The First Sergeant can act as a Platoon, Company, or Detachment Commander as needed.  The First Sergeant reports to the Marine Detachment Commander.

Marine Fighter Pilot Leader

The senior flight officer. S/he is in charge of all things related to the ships Fighter Wing such as been responsible for all the personnel assigned to the department on the ship or facility, and assuring that maintenance work is carried out on the craft by Engineering.   The Fighter Pilot Leader answers directly to the Detachment Commander and Detachment Deputy Commander.

Fighter Pilot

Specialized pilot, trained in all areas of fighter combat. Also familiar with standard shuttles and runabouts. Answers to Fighter Pilot Leader.

M27 Hover Tank

Type I, Mortar

Type II, Mounted onto Phaser Rifle

Type III, "M21 Patriot"                                                          

The photon grenade is a miniature matter/antimatter warhead holding only a few nana grams of the substance. These grenades are usually launched by projectile launching weapons. Type I is an infantry mortar device, Type II is mounted onto a standard phaser rifle (but has only three grenades). Type III is a vehicle mounted and is capable of firing larger shells. It has an antigravity unit and back up treads. It is slow and highly maneuverable. M21 Patriot.

M1 Marine Core Defense Vehicle

A Star Fleet Marine Core Armored Vehicle designed for high intensity warfare. It has a high speed, fast maneuverability, and holds a crew of three. It is armed with a Combat Phaser turret, mounted phaser rifle and Type I Photon Grenade launcher. It has an antigravity unit, and backup treads. It may maneuver while firing.

M2 Marine Core Armored Personnel Carrier

A Star Fleet Marine Core Vehicle built to rapidly transport troops. It has a Type I Photon Grenade launcher and mounted phaser rifles. It has an antigravity unit, and backup treads. It may maneuver while firing. Although some what weaker then the M1 in combat, the M2 carries 25 personnel.
